/    /  Project Management Skills for the Oil & Gas Industry (EPC)

This course is all about building your self-confidence in the project management of EPC contracts. Using presentation, case studies, exercises and discussions the course looks at the project from the Owners point of view and then from the EPC Contractor’s (EPCC) team member’s point of view. We look at the early stages of project development, project delivery systems, Request for Proposals (RFP), and what the owner goes through to choose the EPC contractor. For the EPCC, we look at the WBS to develop the work packages, safety and quality requirements, management of the engineering effort, cost control, Earned Value Analysis (EVA), project reporting, procurement, tendering, construction management, contract administration, training, commissioning and start up and finally closing out of the contracts. The workshop looks at what is needed in the EPC contract for project success. There are responsibility / supply issues that have to be addressed in the EPC contract. If not addressed in the EPC contract, the project manager has to be proactive and get decisions made otherwise project failure is a possibility
